We have our own dog/child ! Dora, modelling above and know how important your furry family members are. We welcome two dogs at both our cottages. We have on occasion following discussion with guests hosted more than two and also other pets so please do get in touch to discuss your requirements. We are sorry but due to the layout of our cottages and the grounds we do not allow dogs from the banned breeds list.
We are very proud to have welcomed guests with no pets who have commended us for our cleanliness. We have also had a guest with an allergy who booked as she had seen our 5 star reviews for being spotlessly clean. With the comfort of these guests in mind we do ask that some house rules are adhered to.
1. No pets to be left unattended at any time in the cottage.
2. We prefer dogs to not go on the furniture and beds but do supply specific fleece throws if they need to be snuggled up to you. Please don’t use the human throws on the sofas as it is extremely difficult to remove pet hair from them.
3. We have a muddy boots and paws washing station, please do not use the shower or bath in the bathroom.
4. We supply dog towels to keep your dog clean and dry.
5. Please dispose of any dog waste in the bin provided at the end of the drive.
We are also delighted to offer a dog sitting service in your cottage in the evenings by prior arrangement. The price is £20 for the first hour then £10 for each subsequent hour. We are happy to consider alternative times.
There are plenty of lovely walks direct from the doorstep, details are in the guest book. There are many fields around the village that are empty but do be aware of livestock. Of course the wonderful lake district also beckons. If your dogs like the beach there are miles of beautiful dog friendly coastline only a ten minute drive away on the Solway coast or there St. Bees beach famous for being the start of the coast to coast walk about thirty minutes away.
We recommend a local secure dog field with agility equipment for some safe off lead fun -Pawprints
